Natural Skin Care: How to Treat Adult Acne

by Abigail McKenzee

Once you've come out of puberty you never have to worry about another pimple again, however, that isn't true for everyone. A lot of people actually develop what is known as adult acne.

Just like teenage acne, there seems to be no particular cause. Many experts say that adult acne is genetic and/or hormonal. Fortunately, there are a series of successful treatment options for all types of acne.

Before you ask yourself, why bother, keep in mind that if acne is not treated appropriately or is treated too late, it can lead to acne scarring. I am sure you can understand the great advantage there is to treating your acne opportunely.

There are a wide variety of treatments available, but we won't cover all of them in this precise moment, instead, we'll concentrate on one in particular: natural skin care for adult acne problems.

Natural Acne Treatment

For the most part, acne problems are usually treated with a medicated acne cream or a rigorous cleansing routine. However, if you prefer a more gentle treatment then you can use natural methods to help deal with your acne problems safely and effectively.

In general, you should avoid popping any pimples or picking at any scabs. Doing either will cause redness and irritation as well as lead to scarring. Also, try and keep your hair out of your face. Hair can easily transfer oils and possible bacteria to your skin.

Other simple tips include eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and less fried food or junk foods. You should also wash your bed sheets frequently to avoid the transfer of oils and dirt to your skin. Now that we have that out of the way, let's take a look at the natural products that can help alleviate your acne problems.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called "terpenes". Acne is often caused by bacteria and the use of terpenes can help destroy or weaken them.

Tea tree oil has very little side effects, however, it can irritate sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera

The watery gel-like leaves of the aloe vera plant are very effective against acne. Their success is due to enzymes, anti-inflammatory properties and anti-bacterial properties.

Honey

Honey has been used as an anti-bacterial product for centuries. Because of its low water content and acidic pH level, it is a poor environment for the growth of bacteria.

This is amazing news for acne sufferers. As mentioned before, acne is generally caused by bacteria which means that if you use honey masks - or another ingredient with similar properties - you could actually be helping eliminate the acne causing bacteria.

A good acne treatment is key for preventing acne scars and promoting healthy skin. BIOSKINFORTE is a natural adult acne cream that contains Helix aspersa muller extract. This miraculous ingredient has antiseptic and anti bacterial properties that help combat the bacteria that are responsible for causing acne.

"Adaptogen: an agent that allows the body to counter adverse physical, chemical, or biological stressors by raising nonspecific resistance toward such stress, thus allowing the organism to “adapt” to the stressful circumstances".

Adaptogens have a normalizing effect on the body and are capable of either toning down the activity of hyperfunctioning systems or strengthening the activity of systems that are currently having a poor ability to respond adequately.

Many adaptogens contain polysaccharides that stimulate immune system components and have immune system enhancing benefits.
