Unfortunate Effects of Childhood Obesity
No matter how we might try to sugarcoat it, childhood obesity is unhealthy. It's all over the news and in health articles: This is becoming a dangerous epidemic. Children are the future, and it's no wonder that so many people are terrified for them. You can't solve the world's problems yourself. If you are a parent, the best thing you can do is look at the future of your own child.
The effects of childhood obesity are very dangerous. In fact, there are links to many different diseases from being an obese child. Heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure are just a few.
This is not to mention the other effects of childhood obesity. It's a well-known fact that children can be quite cruel to each other. Children that are overweight are often made the butt of many harsh jokes and laughter.
Being a child that is not accepted, and who is made fun of is miserable. These children suffer daily as they are not chosen for sports teams, not invited to birthday parties, and not asked to the school dance because they are too 'fat.'
Perhaps as more people see and understand the effects of childhood obesity, we will all be able to stand together and make a difference. But today, you can start with your own child when it's time for dinner. Encourage good eating habits: Teach your child the difference between the food that's good for them and the food that's unhealthy, and you will reduce or even put a stop to childhood obesity. Your child depends on you, the parent, to teach him or her what's right and how to eat. Your child deserves a better quality of life, and he or she depends on you to provide it and avoid childhood obesity. You have the power to either give your child a better quality of life, or to condemn him or her to a life of sorrow and disease. Start with your child to end the childhood obesity epidemic.
