High Blood Pressure Diet - Not as Difficult As You Think

by Jessica P

Did you know that about one in every four Americans has high blood pressure? Heart attack, stroke, and heart disease are strongly linked to this condition. If you're one of the many people who has this condition, you can help control it by following a high blood pressure diet. You can help naturally lower your blood pressure as well as your risk for other conditions by eating certain foods and avoiding others.

Excluding certain things that could cause more damage, raise your blood pressure, or add other problems is one of the keys to a healthy high blood pressure diet. For instance, you should avoid sugars, red meat, and other fatty foods. You should also exclude alcohol and salt. You can season your food with salt or sugar substitutes.

As part of your high blood pressure diet, you should eat foods high in potassium. They help you achieve a healthy blood pressure. Some of those foods are bananas, avocados, tomato juice, grapefruit juice and acorn squash. Then there are the foods rich in magnesium and calcium, which are also said to do their part to lower blood pressure levels. A few of the foods that are full of calcium and magnesium: Green beans, spinach, legumes, tofu, broccoli, and sardines with bones.

Be sure to eat more of the healthy foods that can help lower or even prevent high blood pressure, and also be sure to leave out the foods that can cause problems for anyone with high blood pressure. Taking care of yourself will help you reduce the risk of developing medical conditions that are caused by high blood pressure. You'll also be able to reduce the risk of having a stroke or a heart attack caused by high blood pressure. Following these tips can help you do it.

"Adaptogen: an agent that allows the body to counter adverse physical, chemical, or biological stressors by raising nonspecific resistance toward such stress, thus allowing the organism to “adapt” to the stressful circumstances".

Adaptogens have a normalizing effect on the body and are capable of either toning down the activity of hyperfunctioning systems or strengthening the activity of systems that are currently having a poor ability to respond adequately.

Many adaptogens contain polysaccharides that stimulate immune system components and have immune system enhancing benefits.
